Cleaning up the Locker Room

Now that the Team has thrown the towels in the bin, showered, dressed and turned off the lights as they left the locker room one last time, we have time to organize and file hours and hours of videos, photos, and memories from seven years of constant hard work.

We’ll be sharing those out as they become available to the public.  But just to give you a sneak peek, here’s a clip from Balkan Night Northwest in 2012, I think.

And one minute of glorious mash up from the Balkan Misfits stage at NW Folklife in 2013:

Enjoy!  And stay tuned for more tidbits from the land of memories.

Kenyon Hall – August 5

Last chance to catch us this year

Friends, this has been a whirlwind year. Lots of changes for everyone, and Bucharest Drinking Team is no exception.  We are going through some major changes and need to take a time out to assess our situation and make plans for a bright future.  We know you’ll understand, and absence only makes the heart grow fonder, right?  We know we’ll miss you for sure! But just until next year.

Help us make a new recording

Hey everyone, it’s been three years since our last record release, and we’re ready to break some new ground. The discussion at Practice has been around the question of how do we best capture the vitality and essence of our live performances? Video? Clean studio recording? Everyone using their phones to record everything?

The group idea we settled on is somewhere in between all of those suggestion: We’re going to recording ourselves all year with some decent equipment, at rehearsals and performances (Here’s where you come in) – so we’ll have audience participation captured on the recordings – be ready to participate!

We’ve consulted our accountant and it looks like we’re in need of some outside help – Do you wnat to pre-order the CD? Or hire us for your wedding? You totally can! Please take a look at our very serious indiegogo campaign, and save your spot at the table. And while you’re there, watch the dramatized reenactment of how we got to this point! Go ahead, you know you want to…

Purim party – March 26

We are co-producing our first Purim party. The celebration of the Jewish holiday of Purim includes costumes, drinking, and political consciousness, so it makes a nice fit with what we do all the time. Don your favorite Haman (or 2016 villin presidential candidate) costume, and join us at the Hillman City Collaboratory, 5623 Rainier Ave S. in Seattle, March 26 at 8 pm.
